Pemex Jan-Aug NatGas Output Up 10% to 5.25Bf3/d
Mexico's state oil company Pemex produced an average of 5.25 billion cubic feet a day (Bf3/d, 149 million cubic meters) of natural gas in the first eight months of this year, up 10% from the year-ago period.
The production increase was due to the incorporation of new development wells and infrastructure works at the Burgos and Veracruz basins, Pemex said in a statement.
In August, natural gas output hit a historical average high of 5.53Bf3/d.
Pemex's northern region continues to be the principal natural gas-producing area, contributing 42% of the country's total output in August, followed by the Sonda offshore field in Campeche (33%) and the southern region (25%).
