Duffy & McGovern Extends Gulf of Mexico Order Book
Duffy & McGovern Accommodation Services has secured contracts with Seabird Exploration and AOA Geomarine Operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
The firm will supply both companies with a variety of sleeper and work cabins for projects in the Gulf.
Seabird Exploration has appointed DMAS to provide an 11 x 34 foot eight-man sleeper unit for a six month period on the MV Kondor Express operated by Viking Maritime Inc. The module, which is A60 rated and approved by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), sleeps eight men in a two-bedroom arrangement and is fitted out to PLQ (permanent living quarters) standards.
AOA Geomarine Operations is a subsidiary of Schlumberger, a long-standing DMAS customer, and has awarded the accommodation firm a contract for the rental of two 8 x 20 foot laboratories for use on Western Geco projects in the Gulf of Mexico.
At the same time the company has purchased an 8 x 20 foot ISO (International Standards Organization) cabin for permanent use on the same project.
Duffy & McGovern has provided accommodation to over 20 companies in the Gulf in the last six months. These latest contracts have a combined value of around US$100,000 (£53,000).
