Wood Group Logging Adds New Tech Development Manager

Wood Group Logging Services ("WGLS"), part of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), has hired John Smaardyk as its new technology development manager.

John will work directly with WGLS' vendors and suppliers in pursuit of technological advances for the company. John has held past positions as project leader, development project engineer, and senior scientific advisor in physics in the oil and gas industry. John earned masters and doctorate degrees in physics from the University of Illinois. He holds a number of method and apparatus patents for well logging technology in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. John is a member of the American Physical Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Society of Professional Well Log Analysts and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
