Petrobras Prepares September Tenders for Two Production Units
Brazil's federal energy company Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) plans to launch a tender in September for two oil production units, news service Agencia Estado reported.
Petrobras will tender the P-55 semi-submersible platform with capacity to produce 180,000 barrels a day (b/d) of oil and the P-57 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel with the same capacity.
The P-55 is for the Roncador field and P-57 for Jubarte, both in the Campos basin. The P-57 is due to start operations in 2010 and P-55 in 2011, according to the company's strategic five-year plan.
The two production units will be built with 70-75% local content, Agencia Estado quoted company E&P director Guilherme Estrella as saying.
