Salamis Reaches Safety Milestone
In the last five years, Salamis' 140-strong team has decontaminated more than 1,000 production tanks and vessels of varying shapes and sizes. In addition, other core activities during this period included high-pressure (HP) and ultra-HP water jetting applications such as cold cutting, surface preparation, chemical cleaning, and LSA decontamination.
Brian Swankie, Salamis project manager, said that being LTI-free for 5 years is an exceptional achievement. “Given the hazardous nature of the work carried out by the Environmental Services team, to achieve 5 years without incurring an LTI is great credit to the commitment and quality of supervision and operatives," he said. "Another contributory factor has been the extensive training program both internally and externally, and our ongoing competency achievement."
Salamis is an international services contractor with a proven track record in providing integrated, multi-disciplinary support services and maintenance solutions to international Blue Chip clients, principally in the energy, petrochemical, industrial, and utilities sectors. The company employs more than 2000 staff. The Salamis Group of companies comprises wholly owned businesses and joint venture companies in the U.K., U.S., Trinidad, and Canada.
