Arabian Gulf Oil in Negotiations with Ortolan for New Jackups

Ortolan offshore, part the Ortolan group and a division of Ortolan slr of Trieste Italy, is in negotiations with Arabian Gulf Oil for several jackups.

Arabian Gulf Oil is looking for an acquisition of what could be up to three jackup rigs. These rigs are to be based on the Friede & Goldman (F&G) Super M2 design.

The negotiations that are taking place are for one Super M2 with options for a further two more.

Arabian Gulf Oil, believes the F&G Super M2 jackup to be the most suited for their requirements, and for their potential customers in the areas where they are looking to operate these rigs.

The companies' requirement is for the F&G Super M2 jackup to operate at a minimum water depth of 300 feet with a drilling depth of up to 30,000 feet.

Ortolan Offshore has a number of potential clients evaluating offers for F&G designed rigs, from the Super M2 up to the Universal M Class, the largest of the F&G jackup designs, especially suited for harsh environments.

Ortolan is also working with a number of clients for its range of jackup barges (lifeboats) in conduction with A.K Suda its partner for these vessels.
