Peak Strengthens Middle East Office
The Peak Group, a member of the Ability Group (AGR), has enhanced its position in the Middle East with the announcement of a key appointment.
Tom Conlon, recently with BG-Rashpetco in Egypt and formerly with Marathon Oil, joins The Peak Group as operations manager for the Dubai office. He will oversee the planning and execution of The Peak Group's growing well management business in the Middle East and secure further drilling opportunities in the region.
His appointment heralds the start of major expansion plans for The Peak Group's Dubai office, which opened three years ago.
Tom started his career in 1975 as a drilling engineer with Loffland Brothers and worked in the North Sea and Saudi Arabia. He then moved to Marathon Oil, working in Indonesia and Europe, before joining the BG joint venture in Egypt in 2004 as drilling general manager.
Tom's expertise covers all aspects of development and exploration drilling activity, in particular complex platform drilling projects and highly deviated wells.
He said: "I have joined The Peak Group at an extremely exciting time for the company. The Peak Group already has a strong presence in the Middle East and my ambition is to help it grow even more dramatically in this region.
"The Peak Group has an excellent reputation within the industry and a growing workload, and I fully intend to enhance both."
Chief executive officer of The Peak Group Andrew Paterson said: "Tom is a highly experienced individual who brings a wealth of knowledge to The Peak Group. His stature and expertise in the international drilling management community will complement our current team and will help to grow our business.
"Our office in Dubai is rapidly expanding and it is an exciting time for us all. Tom's appointment adds to an already glittering array of well construction talent in the group."
