Qserv Scoops Top Safety Award for Third Year Running

Qserv has won the prestigious International Safety Award 2005 from the British Safety Council for the third year in a row as a result of its zero accident rates, controlled safety policies and commitment to health and safety at all levels throughout the company.

The award was presented to Qserv at a special presentation banquet at the Grosvenor House in London on Friday, May 19th. David Staniforth, Qserv's HSEQ manager said: "To win this award for the third year running is really a superb achievement for the company and it truly recognises the success that Qserv and its employees have achieved for the correct balance in the management of health, safety and environmental matters. We maintain and operate a stringent integrated HSEQ management system and, since the company was founded in November 2001, there have been zero lost time injuries."

He continued: "Each member of the Qserv team has a major part to play in sustaining this record and as a company, we always give health and safety top priority to make safe working environments a reality. We commend all the Qserv staff for their efforts for implementing sound, safe functions and services to enable this award to be presented."

Award winners include large and small enterprises all over the country, from the public and private sectors. Only companies with below average accident rates were eligible to apply and they faced a tough test to satisfy the independent adjudicating panel. In addition to zero accident rates, Qserv had to detail other requirements including, its health & safety policy, its organisational structure, managers' professional qualifications & competency and details of the significant advances made in health and safety for the year.

Mr. David Ballard, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said: "The International Safety Awards highlight organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety. They are a mark of proven achievement in safety standards and raise the awareness of the benefits that effective health, safety and environmental management brings to business, employees and the environment."

Qserv was founded was founded in November 2001 as a result of market demands for a new and innovative service company capable of delivering a 'quality service' to the oil and gas industry. It offers a range of services including, coiled tubing, pumping, wireline, subsea well intervention, engineering and pipeline services. Qserv is situated at Badentoy Industrial Estate in Portlethen and employs 180 staff. It operates predominantly in the UKCS, but also Qatar, Norway, Denmark, and other European countries.
