Maurel & Prom Makes Congo Discovery
Maurel & Prom says Well 2001, drilled at the south eastern extremity of the M'Boundi field in Congo (Brazzaville), has encountered the Vandji sandstone impregnated with hydrocarbons over a depth of 10 meters.
Tests conducted using a 32/64 inch choke have given a flow rate of 420 barrels per day.
Assessment of this new production zone will continue with the drilling of well
MBD-2002 located up-dip of MBD-2001. An additional well MBD-2003 should enable
exploration of a new block, not yet investigated, situated to the north east of
the MBD-2001 well'.
