C&M's US Operations Off to Flying Start

Only weeks after announcing the opening of a Houston operation, Aberdeen-headquartered C&M Group has picked up a contract offshore Louisiana valued at over $600,000.

Earlier this month, the electrical and engineering group set up a new company in Houston to expand on its international capabilities and provide a range of services and specialist products to the oil and gas and marine industries. C&M - Marine Services (USA), Inc. has been awarded a contract to deliver three motor control buildings for the Black Bay field in Louisiana waters for Helis Oil & Gas of New Orleans.

C&M will design, engineer, fabricate, fit-out and commission these buildings for the electrical operations on the platform.

Patrick Granger heads up the US operations of C&M Marine Services. He says: "The lead for this contract was generated at OTC and we are delighted that we can announce our success so quickly after the show. We have had tremendous feedback from a number of potential clients in Houston and are very confident that business in and around the Gulf of Mexico will grow rapidly. C&M has quickly built a reputation for delivering turnkey oil and gas projects in Nigeria and the Gulf of Mexico."

With three consecutive years of sustained dynamic growth, C&M Group is on track to record an impressive £20 + million turnover this forthcoming year. The group employs 65 people in Aberdeen and is aiming to grow the Houston office to six employees over the course of next year.

C&M - Marine Services (USA) Inc. provides marine accommodations, offshore buildings, vessel management and inspection, conversion and upgrades as well as marine engineering, design services and naval architecture.

C&M Group is a multi-disciplined engineering business with five independent operating companies in the areas of marine, offshore oil and gas, advanced technology, electrical contracting and kitchen engineering.
