Petrofac Makes New Management Appointments

Petrofac Training has made two new management appointments. With immediate effect, Jim Walker is appointed director, Petrofac Training, and Mike Comerford is appointed managing director of Rubicon Response, the specialist emergency response and crisis management division of Petrofac Training.

In his new role, Walker will work closely with Petrofac Training's managing director, Leigh Howarth to look at organisational development and to ensure the business is appropriately structured to support growth and development, both in the UK and international markets. Whilst reviewing organisational development, Walker will work closely with each of the businesses, including Rubicon Response.

Comerford joins Petrofac Training from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) where since 1999, he has held two key positions; as regional director for Scotland and Northern Ireland and more recently as director of Strategy & Communications.

Commenting on the appointments, Petrofac Training's managing director, Leigh Howarth said: "We recognised that our organisational structure would need to be developed to take account of a number of factors, not least our continued growth and development in international markets. With significant operational and managerial experience, Jim is ideally placed to assist me in focusing on these development issues.

"Jim's previous role as managing director of Rubicon Response is being ably filled by Mike Comerford. In previous roles Mike's responsibilities have ranged from strategic planning through to day-to-day operations, including key emergency response and crisis management responsibilities. I know that he will continue to build on the achievements of Jim and the Rubicon Response team."
