Production Starts at Noble Energy's Lorien Field

Noble Energy reports that the Lorien field in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico commenced production on April 27, 2006. The field has now achieved its gross production target of approximately 19,000 barrels per day (Bpd) of oil and 25 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd) of natural gas. Net to Noble Energy's interest, production at Lorien is currently to 9,900 Bpd and 13 MMcfd.

Lorien is located on Green Canyon Block 199 in 2,177 feet of water and is a two well subsea development with a 13 mile tieback to a nearby host. Noble Energy is the operator of Lorien with a 60 percent working interest. Hydro Gulf of Mexico, L.L.C. has a working interest of 30 percent, and Davis Offshore, L.P. has a working interest of 10 percent.

"Lorien is our third significant deepwater project to start production over the past seven months, following the start-up of Swordfish in October of last year and Ticonderoga in February. The impact on our production and cash flow from the three developments is significant," said Dave Stover, Noble Energy's senior vice president of North America.

Noble Energy is now producing over 24,000 Bpd of oil and 40 MMcfpd of natural gas, net, from the three fields.
