JKX Oil & Gas Completes & Tests Two Ukrainian Wells
JKX Oil & Gas has completed and tested Well M154 as part of its ongoing drilling program at Poltava, Ukraine. The well has been tied back to the Company's production facility via a new 6 km flowline.
During testing, Well M154 flowed at a stabilized rate of 920 barrels of oil per day and 1 million cubic feet of gas through a 33/64 inch choke, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 770 psi. Well M154 is a horizontal development well located on the southern flank of northern part of the Molchanovskoye Field and is the fourth horizontal producer drilled in northern part of Molchanovskoye. Well M154 penetrated at total of 300m of gas and oil bearing Tournasian sands and is producing from a 150m horizontal section in the oil leg.
The Skytop Brewster rig has now returned to Well R101 in the northern part of the Rudenkovskoye Field where it is re-entering the well which was suspended earlier this year. Operations will include the installation of a high strength casing string, completion of the well and, in the first instance, testing of the lower 120m section of a total of more than 200m of gas bearing Tournasian sandstones. The well is planned to be perforated using tubing-conveyed guns in order to maximize productivity.
JKX Oil & Gas has also completed and tested Well I124 as part of its ongoing drilling program at Poltava, Ukraine. The well has been tied back to the Company's production facility via a new 3 km flowline.
During testing, Well I124 flowed at a stabilized rate of 1,530 barrels of oil per day and 0.75 million cubic feet of gas through a 30/64 inch choke, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,075 psi. Well I124 is a vertical development well located on the southern flank of the Ignatovskoye Field. It tested a reefal feature in the Visean Carbonate, some distance from the main carbonate build-up which forms the primary gas reservoir in the field. The well is producing from secondary porosity zones within the 100m of Visean Carbonate penetrated.
The Kremco 900 rig has now moved to Well I101. Well I101 was drilled by JKX in 1995 and found a small isolated oil accumulation; this well was never placed on production because of problems with the completion. It is now planned to sidetrack the well to provide a new completion in the oil bearing Tournasian sandstone.
