BJ Services Wins Libyan Contract from Woodside

BJ Tubular Services has been awarded a contract by Woodside Energy (N.A.) Ltd for casing and tubing running and completion assembly services in Libya.

Work under this contract, which has a two-year term, is scheduled to commence in April 2006, and is expected to include services during the next nine months in the Murzuq Basin, south-west of Tripoli near the Algerian border.

All services will be supplied by BJ from its new base in Misurata, 200 km east of Tripoli. To carry out these services, BJ will be using a comprehensive suite of casing and tubular handling equipment, including flush-mounted spiders and the Fill-and-Circulate Tool, which provides fast, safe and effective fill-up of casing strings while running.

Forging New Customer Relationships in Libya
The contract award from Woodside represents the first time BJ Tubular Services will have worked on behalf of the company. "Since we have only recently entered the Libyan market, it's very exciting to be have been awarded this work," said Kenny Watt, division manager of BJ Tubular Services.
