RWE-DEA Drills Duster in Norway

RWE-DEA Norge as operator of permit 270 (block 35/3) has completed drilling the exploration well 35/3-6. The well was located approximately 65 km Northwest of Floro. Earlier exploration on the block had found gas. The purpose with this well was to establish gas in ground of the lower rock part of the early Cretaceous age.

The well was drilled in 225 meters of water to a total of vertical depth of 3343 meters below sea level. There were no proven hydrocarbons in the well.

The well is now permanently plugged and abandoned. Odfjell's semisubmersible, Deepsea Bergen, was used to drill the well and will now be moving to a new location for Amerada Hess.
