PSL Energy Services Wins First Contract in Turkmenistan

PSL Energy will carry out a range of pre-commissioning work on a jackup Mobile Production Unit (MOPU) for SBM Offshore.

The work scope includes performing hydro-testing, bolting and leak testing services during the hook-up and commissioning of the MOPU.

PSL had initially been contracted to provide these services via the Bosshelf offshore construction yard in Baku while the MOPU was undergoing final assembly. Following its completion, the unit has sailed for Turkmenistan where PSL will complete the final remaining hook up and start up work scopes for SBM.

All equipment and personnel will be mobilized from PSL's newly opened Caspian regional headquarters in Baku, Azerbaijan.

PSL's regional manager for the Caspian region, Tom Sherwin, said: "This is our first success in Turkmenistan and we hope it will open the door to further opportunities to work with SBM and other clients.

"We have made a significant capital investment on new equipment for Baku and in training a professional well-qualified and motivated workforce and our long-term commitment to the region is now beginning to pay off."
