Antrim Receives Operatorship Approval for Block 211/23d in the North Sea
Antrim's application made by its wholly owned subsidiary, Antrim Resources (N.I.) Limited, for exploration operatorship of Block 211/23d has been approved. Antrim was awarded Block 211/23d in September 2005 under the UK's competitive 23rd Seaward Licensing Bid Round. One discovery well (211/23b-11) was drilled in 1992 on Block 211/23d and tested oil at a rate of 8,100 bopd from the Jurassic Brent interval.
Antrim applied for operatorship of the block to consolidate its interests in the area and allow Antrim to continue its plans to drill the Causeway Prospect in the area later this year. Antrim's working interest on Block 211/23d is 79%.
