Halliburton Brown & Root Limited has been awarded a $3 million contract from Dolphin Energy Limited to carry out the midstream front-end engineering and design work for the Dolphin Project. The contract, which is to be completed in nine months, involves engineering, design and management support for a gas transmission pipeline, gas receiving and metering facilities at Taweelah in Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali in Dubai, and a riser platform. Once this work is completed, construction work on the pipeline can begin. The $3.5 billion Dolphin Project will explore and produce gas from Qatar's vast Northern field and transport a projected 2 billion cubic feet a day of gas on to the emirates via a 440-kilometer sub-sea pipeline.
