Eni Brings Forward the Expansion of TTPC and TAG Pipelines
Eni's Board of Directors has approved the decision to bring forward the increase in 6.6 billion cubic meters a year of capacity of the TTPC and TAG pipelines to April 1, 2009. The increase was formerly scheduled for October 1, 2011.
The expanded capacity of the TTPC pipeline, which transports Algerian gas to Italy through Tunisia, will carry 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year from October 1, 2008, and 3.3 billion cubic meters per year from April 1, 2009.
The expanded capacity of the TAG pipeline, which transports Russian gas to Italy via Slovakia and Austria, will carry 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year from October 1, 2008, and 3.3 billion cubic meters per year from 1 April 2009.
Bringing the second phase of the expansion forward addresses the growing demand for gas in Italy and represents a further step in favor of competition.
