North West Shelf Names New President

Woodside

Senior BP executive Peter Cleary has been appointed President of the North West Shelf Venture's LNG marketing arm, North West Shelf Australia LNG (NWSALNG).

Mr. Cleary, 47, replaces John Banner who returns to Chevron after a three-year term as NWSALNG President.

"We welcome Peter Cleary's appointment to NWSALNG and believe he will continue to build on the successful marketing efforts and strong customer relationships created by past Presidents including John Banner," said Keith Spence, Chairman of North West Shelf Australia LNG Pty Ltd.

"Peter has significant international experience in LNG marketing and we are confident he will successfully lead and implement the Venture's marketing strategy during his three-year term."

Mr. Cleary recently moved to Perth with his wife and their two sons from Seoul where he headed BP's LNG sales and was a member of its global LNG leadership team.

His appointment follows the Venture's decision in mid-2005 to build a fifth LNG processing train at its Karratha gas plant and its continued focus on re-contracting with existing customers as well as pursuing LNG marketing opportunities within other high-value markets.

The six equal participants in the North West Shelf Venture are: BHP Billiton Petroleum (North West Shelf) Pty Ltd; BP Developments Australia Pty Ltd; Chevron Australia Pty Ltd; Japan Australia LNG (MIMI) Pty Ltd; Shell Development (Australia) Proprietary Ltd; and Woodside Energy Ltd (Operator).
