Total Awarded Four Blocks in Norway's APA 2005 Round
Total's Norwegian subsidiary, Total E&P Norge AS, has been awarded four offshore areas, within the framework of the APA (Awards in Predefined Areas) 2005 bidding round.
Total will be the operator on two blocks. Block 6406/12(part) and 29/6 & 30/4(parts). The work commitment for block 6406/12 will require Total to acquire new 3D seismic which covers the awarded acreage; make a drill or drop decision within three years; make a DoC or relinquishment decision within five years and submit a PDO or relinquish within six years. There is no work commitment on the other block in which Total acquired operatorship. The other two blocks in which total acquired a stake are 31/3(part) and 6506/11(part).
Total is a leading oil and gas player in Norway. These awards reinforce Total's position in Norway where the Group presently produces close to 400,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
