BowLeven Appoints Exploration Director

BowLeven has appointed Jerry Anthony as Exploration Director of the Company with effect from January 1, 2006.

Jerry, who qualified as a geologist in 1976, has approximately 30 years experience in the international E&P arena, primarily with Chevron Corporation, where he gained experience in a number of African countries including Sudan and Angola, in addition to Yemen and Kazakhstan. After a considerable period based in California, Jerry returned to the UK where he was North Africa New Ventures Manager with Chevron Africa and Middle East and then Africa New Ventures Manager with Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc. In 2002 Jerry joined Sasol Petroleum International Ltd ('SPI') in London as General Manager for the Gulf of Guinea and New Ventures including responsibility for establishing upstream positions for SPI's GTL (Gas to Liquids) business.

Commenting on the announcement Philip Rhind, Chief Executive of BowLeven said: "We are delighted to have Jerry join the team. His experience in the Gulf of Guinea in particular and Africa in general will be valuable to us in our drive to unlock value for shareholders from our Cameroon acreage."
