ExxonMobil Senior VP Ed Galante to Retire After 34 Years of Service

Mr. Ed G. Galante, 55, senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation, has announced his intention to retire on January 31, 2006 after 34 years of service.

Since 2001, Mr. Galante has been responsible for ExxonMobil's global downstream operations, which include refining, supply, fuels marketing, lubricants and petroleum specialties, as well as research and engineering.

During his career, Mr. Galante held a number of domestic and international marketing, refining and general management assignments. Those positions included executive vice president of ExxonMobil Chemical Company, chairman and managing director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited in Bangkok, executive assistant to the chairman of Exxon Corporation, and chief executive and general manager of Esso Caribbean and Central America in Coral Gables, Florida.

Galante, a native of Inwood, New York, joined the Exxon organization full-time in 1972 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University.
