BJ PPS Forms New Global Business Development Group
BJ Process and Pipeline Services has created a new global business development group reporting to Andy Barden, division technical manager. Based in Houston, the new group will be responsible for strategic growth and development of the company's services worldwide. It will identify the need for new technologies, and develop and disseminate them in specific target markets around the world.
Launch of Global Business Development Group Triggers Promotions
As a result, two BJ PPS managers have been promoted. Tony Bokas has been promoted to business development manager – process services for the division. In his new role, Bokas, 36, is responsible for the global management and co-ordination of all sales and marketing activities of process services, and the delivery of strategic worldwide growth in this dynamic growth sector. In addition to monitoring and directing global utilization of all process product line assets, he is tasked with analyzing, recommending and implementing new service lines in selected regions.
Prior to his promotion, Bokas was based in Dubai and served for the past two years as sales manager - Middle East Region for BJ PPS, with responsibility for all projects falling within the Middle East, Indian sub-continent and Caspian area. Bokas joined BJ PPS in l995. Since then he has worked in a variety of engineering, technical and commercial positions in Dubai and Leeds, England. Early in his career, he gained experience offshore while working on a number of process and pipeline projects both on and offshore in the UKCS, North Sea, Germany, France and China.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering (Hons) from University of Birmingham, England. A native of England, Bokas recently relocated to the division's North American headquarters in Houston.
In addition, Steve Barber has been promoted to business development manager – Chemical Cleaning Services for the division. Barber, 58, is responsible for the global management and co-ordination of all sales and marketing activities for chemical cleaning services, and the delivery of strategic worldwide growth in this dynamic growth sector. In addition to monitoring and directing global utilization of all process product line assets, he is tasked with analysing, recommending and implementing new service lines in selected regions.
Prior to his promotion, Barber was based in Houston and served for the past five years as business development manager – Americas Region for BJ PPS, with responsibility for chemical cleaning services business development in Canada, the USA and South America. Barber joined BJ PPS in l999 with 29 years experience in the industrial services sector. Throughout the course of his career has worked in various sales and management roles for The Dow Chemical Company, Dowell Schlumberger and HydroChem Industrial Services.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University of Bloomington, Indiana, US. A native of America, he lives in Louisville, Kentucky. Both Bokas and Barber report to Andy Barden, division technical manager for BJ PPS, who is based in Houston.
