New Caspian Chief Cements PSL Energy Services Expansion Plans

PSL Energy Services Ltd have appointed well services expert Tom Sherwin as Regional Manager for the Caspian region.

Based in Baku, Azerbaijan, where PSL is soon to open a new operational base, Mr. Sherwin will lead the company's expanding Azeri and UK workforce which now stands at 200.

A specialist in cementing and stimulation services and coiled tubing operations, Mr. Sherwin was employed by Halliburton for 16 years, working in a variety of senior management roles in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Mr. Sherwin also has a depth of experience in delivering against stringent HSE and service quality standards and providing safety leadership.

Prior to taking up his role with PSL Mr. Sherwin was Operations Manager for Halliburton in Balikpapan, Indonesia, working with a range of leading oil and gas companies including Total, Vico and Unocal.

PSL view Mr. Sherwin's appointment as an important addition to their successful Baku operation and he will focus on building the company's turnover in the Caspian region, which last year exceeded £10 million.

PSL Energy Services managing director, Doug Duguid, said: "We have identified the Caspian region as vital to our international growth strategy and in Tom Sherwin we have a leader who can further strengthen our reputation with customers such as AIOC, MCCI, BOSShelf and Technip.

"Tom comes with extensive international experience and a very strong well services and process pipelines background and is a perfect fit for our existing management team.

"It says volumes that PSL is a company that is going places, given that Tom has decided to join us after spending almost his entire engineering career with Halliburton."

Tom Sherwin added: "I am excited to be joining a rapidly growing company which is developing an excellent reputation for customer service in the highly competitive international pipeline, process and well services business.

"I am looking forward to the challenges of expanding the range of PSL's services beyond those currently provided in Azerbaijan, throughout the whole Caspian area."
