Baker Energy Appoints New Vice President
Stephen P. Roan has been named vice president of operations for Baker Energy, a unit of Michael Baker Corporation.
Baker Energy provides comprehensive operations and maintenance services for leading oil and gas producers worldwide. In this new position, Roan will be responsible for managing the company's offshore, inland and deepwater Gulf of Mexico operations based in Lafayette, La., which primarily involves supplying labor support to clients in the Gulf.
"Our Lafayette labor operation is the very foundation of Baker Energy's domestic operations and maintenance activities," John N. Hickman, senior vice president, said. "Steve continues to maintain very close relationships with existing clients while building and reaching new client bases including the deepwater Gulf of Mexico."
Roan joined Baker in 1999 as part of the company's acquisition of Steen Production Services, Inc., a full-service operations and maintenance company serving customers in the oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico, where he had worked for more than 25 years. At the time, he was co-owner of the firm, as well as its treasurer and business manager. Since 1999, he has served as Lafayette asset manager for Baker Energy.
A native of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Roan holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern State University. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and is a licensed pilot. He currently resides in Youngsville, La., with his wife, Susan, and their two sons.
