Dolphin Discontinues AoC Certificate for Belford Dolphin
Dolphin Drilling has decided that it does not wish to continue the work to keep the AoC up-to-date for the Belford Dolphin.
Acknowledgement of Compliance for mobile drilling facilities (AoC) is a statement from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) that a mobile drilling facility's technical condition and the applicant's organization and management system, have been found to be in accordance with relevant requirements in the Norwegian shelf regulations.
The AoC was granted to the Belford Dolphin on September 30, 2004. Dolphin has informed the PSA by letter that the company has signed a three-year contract for operations in the Gulf of Mexico and that the Belford Dolphin will probably operate outside the Norwegian shelf for the foreseeable future.
The AoC system was made mandatory for mobile drilling facilities operating on the Norwegian shelf from January 1, 2004.
