PGS - Veritas Merger Receives Approval from UK Government

The Office of Fair Trading said it decided not to refer the proposed merger of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA and Veritas DGC Inc to the Competition Commission under the provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1973.

The clearance leaves the approval of the Norwegian authorities, an anti-trust issue in Brazil, and shareholder approval by both companies as the remaining issues before the merger can be completed.
