George Brown Named Managing Director for Wood Group (North Sea)

Wood Group Engineering (North Sea), part of John Wood Group PLC has appointed George Brown as Managing Director. This follows the recent announcement that John Stewart is taking up the role of Director for Wood Group Production Facilities in Norway, Russia, Middle East and North Africa, a newly created role reflecting the global development and growth potential of the Group's Production Facilities division. The appointment is effective October 1, 2005.

Les Thomas, Chief Executive of Wood Group Production Facilities said, "George brings to us a wealth of professional experience in the oil & gas business, in both the operating and contracting sectors and we are delighted that he is joining the Group. John Stewart's new role and George Brown's appointment will ensure that we give the proper leadership focus and attention to both existing and new clients as we continue to grow our business."

John Stewart has worked for over 30 years in the oil & gas industry, including 20 years in the operating sector with Shell, Conoco and British Gas. John has been with Wood Group for eight years, the last four of which as Managing Director of Wood Group Engineering (North Sea) Limited. John's new role sees him responsible for expanding Wood Group Engineering (North Sea)'s service provision beyond the UKCS.

George Brown, originally a civil engineering graduate from Glasgow University, is a chartered engineer who initially specialized in the design and construction of docks and harbors. George joined the oil & gas business in 1979 with Marathon Oil and over the next 14 years worked in a variety of increasingly senior project engineering, construction, operations and maintenance management roles. George joined Amec in 1993, progressing to Managing Director of their Aberdeen, Yarmouth and Norway business. He has most recently been the Managing Director of MacGregor Energy Services and a Director of RBG Ltd, formed through their recent merger with Rigblast.
