Kvaerner, the Anglo-Norwegian engineering and construction Group, announced that the joint venture of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Chevron Nigeria Ltd. (CNL) has awarded Houston-based Kvaerner Enercon, Inc. the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) work for the offshore portion of the Escravos Gas Project Phase 3 (EGP3), Escravos, Nigeria.

EGP3 is part of joint efforts by NNPC and CNL to eliminate routine flaring and commercialize natural gas produced in association with oil production in ChevronTexaco's Nigerian operations. The scope of the FEED work for Kvaerner Enercon includes a new gas gathering compression platform, a new non-associated gas production platform, four new non-associated gas wellhead platforms, a new booster compressor deck, modification of existing production platforms, subsea 12" to 26" pipelines between offshore platforms and onshore, and PLEM and SPM operations. All new offshore platforms are in water depths of 15 to 25 feet. The gathered gas will expand the supply delivered to the onshore gas plant. Kvaerner Enercon have contracted with NETCO and Universal Services, both Nigerian engineering firms, to assist in executing this FEED work.

Kvaerner Enercon is a specialist multi-discipline organization covering all technical and project management functions necessary for carrying out developments of oil and gas fields worldwide, onshore and offshore.
