Bouygues/Saipem Awarded Algerian Contract

Sonatrach has awarded a joint venture of Saipem and Bouygues a $257 million oilfield development project. Under the contract, the companies will set up a 80,000 barrels per day processing train and a oil collecting network at the Rhourde Ouled Dejmaa oil field in Berkine basin. Work is expected to last for two years. Sonatrach is operting the field in partnership with BHP Billiton and Agip. The field has a potential output of 300 million barrels.
