Salamis Wins North Sea Work from AMEC
Salamis has won two new contracts valued at approximately £3 million from AMEC.
AMEC has awarded Salamis an 18-month contract for the provision of fabric maintenance services on Talisman's Piper Bravo Platform. This work is part of AMEC's EPIC contract with Talisman and will enable the facility to receive the additional production from the new Tweedsmuir field currently being developed. The contract includes: project management, scaffolding, painting, fire-proofing, insulation, rigging, rope access and deck crew, and will create 12 new jobs in the North East.
Another 30 new jobs have been created following the award by AMEC to Salamis of another 18 month contract, this time for fabric maintenance work associated with host modifications pre-works, hook-up and commissioning of a new jacket and topsides platform that will be bridge linked to the existing Britannia installation, as part of the Britannia Satellites (BritSats) Phase 1 Development project. The scope of work includes: project management, scaffolding, painting, fire-proofing, insulation, rope access, NDE and inspection.
Ian Nickerson, Chief Executive of Salamis, said: "These contracts were won in competition, underlining Salamis' reputation for delivering real improvements to our existing clients in safety, quality, innovation and overall value.
