CNOOC Jackup Leaves China
The Bohai IX jackup has left Dalian Port en route for West Africa. CNOOC secured the first contract for overseas service as an independent contractor in the international drilling market.
The rig used to be an accommodation platform, domestically designed and constructed in 1984. It was later converted into a multifunctional platform for both living support and drilling at the end of 1996. The rig will drill for AMNI Petroleum Company of Nigeria for 12 months.
