|Monday, January 14, 2002
Statoil has been tapped by the IOC to prepare a comprehensive development plan to boost production from three Iranian fields in southwest Iran. The three oilfields are Ahwaz, Bibi-hakimeh and Maroun. Statoil will be conduction the study in conjunction with Iran's Oil Industry Research Center. The price tag of the study is approximately $10 million. Total oil production from those fields is approximately 1.5 million barrels per day. It has been almost twenty-five years since the first comprehensive study on the reserves at these oil fields was first completed.
After the completion of the study, in case the conditions warrant for further development of the oilfields, international oil companies will be contacted to present tenders.
