Jacobs Joins NAM Consortium

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has received formal approval from the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) to become a member of their consortium. The consortium, in place and operating since 1997, is responsible for upgrading between 11 and 29 gas production facilities on one of the world's largest gas fields. These gas fields, located in Groningen, The Netherlands, comprise as many as 300 production wells. NAM is a joint venture between Shell and Esso.

Services will include design, procurement, construction, and 25 years of maintenance and operation support on this $1.75 billion capital program.

The program includes a state-of-the-art data warehouse system to control and maintain all relevant data for maximum repeatability benefits during the 25-year contract period.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Robert Clement stated, "We have been a partner with NAM in the development of major onshore and offshore oil & gas fields in the Netherlands since the early 1960s. We are very pleased to see this long-term collaboration grow into a strategic partnership between our companies."
