Ferguson Modular Wins Contract for Offshore Accommodations

Ferguson Modular has won two significant contracts for the supply of nine offshore accommodation and workspace modules worth more than £250,000. Chevron has taken delivery of two of the new Ferguson modules for a contract in the Strathspey field on the Borgston Dolphin rig.

The units are built to the recently announced new specification – the result of a £6m investment by the Group. Based on the new 'customied standardization' format one is configured for office space and one for accommodation.

In a second important contract Perenco, the London and Paris based independent exploration and production company has taken delivery of six of the new Ferguson modules for use on its 100% owned Trent platform in the southern North Sea. The units – four accommodation, a galley and a locker & recreation room will be used during the construction of unmanned compression facilities on the platform. In addition to the Ferguson modules the contract also includes a Ferguson 'Koolbox' fridge / freezer unit for safe food storage.

A spokesperson for Perenco said "We have been pleased with Ferguson's approach to our requirements. The standards of their new accommodation modules are amongst the best we have seen, but it was the ease with which one was adapted to suit our compact galley requirement which impressed us most."

Gary Wilson, Operations Manager for Ferguson Modular commented "We have been delighted with the response to the new modules, and with these two significant long term hire contracts. We hope to be in a position to announce more very soon."

"The company has invested £2 million so far this year in developing the new range of modules as part of an overall £6 million investment in both the module and container fleets. It is our total control of the production process which allows Ferguson much tighter quality standards, and it is satisfying to see this reflected in new orders."
