Jordan and Algeria Improve Exploration Commitment
Jordan and Algeria have made agreements that will strengthen their commitment to enter joint oil and gas exploration projects. Algeria's Energy and Mining Minister Chakib Khelil and his Jordanian counterpart, Mohamed Bataina, signed a memorandum of understanding on exploration and production of oil and gas resources.
The talks focused on renewing exploration in the El Azrak basin east of Jordan, development of the Erricha gas deposit, and oil exploration on the Jordanian-Iraqi border and inside Iraq. Sonatrach will participate in some of these joint projects.
