Parker Drilling Extends Contracts in Columbia

Parker Drilling Company announced a one-year contract extension with BP for four rigs in Colombia.

The rigs, all 3,000 horsepower, were contracted by BP last year to work in Colombia's Casanare Area. Under this new extension, the rigs will work in the Cusiana, Cupiagua, Recitor and Piedemonte concession blocks. Parker has worked for BP in Colombia since 1991.

"Colombia continues to be a strong market for our company, and our long working relationship with BP has been vital to our success in the region," said Robert L. Parker Jr., president and CEO. With this contract extension Parker Drilling will operate six rigs in Colombia.
