Parker Drilling Names New COO
Parker Drilling Company announced the appointment of Robert F. Nash, 58, as senior vice president and chief operating officer. Nash's appointment fills the vacancy created by the July retirement of James W. Linn.
"Robert brings excellent leadership credentials to our company, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to expand our company," said Robert L. Parker Jr., president and CEO. "His international experience will be of great value as we expand our business in Kazakhstan and Russia and continue to increase utilization in Latin America and Indonesia."
Nash will focus on improving profitability, a global approach to marketing the company's existing rigs and a continuing emphasis on health, safety and the environment, Parker said.
Nash has worked in the oil and gas service sector for 26 years, serving in a variety of senior management roles with Halliburton Energy Services. His responsibilities included operations, technical development, manufacturing, procurement, inventory management, sales and marketing. He also has considerable experience with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, consolidations and reorganizations.
He is a graduate of McNeese State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He and his wife Cindy live in Katy, Texas, and have three grown daughters.
