ExxonMobil Strikes Out at Jotun Field

Norwegian Petroleum Directorate

The wildcat well 25/8-13 located approximately 5 miles south of the Jotun field turned out to be a duster. Irving, as named by Esso Exploration and Production Norway, was drilled by Smedvig's semisubmersible, West Alpha, to a total depth of 7,408 feet in the Jurrasic in a water depth of 420 feet. The well has been plugged and abandoned. If hydrocarbons had been found, the well would have been tied back to the Jotun FPSO.

Esso operates license PL 027B with a 50% interest and Enterprise Oil holds the remaining 50% interest.
