PSA Okays Statoil's Use of Stena Don on Heidrun

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Statoil ASA its consent to use the Stena Don on the Heidrun field. The activity entails production drilling, as well as completion and intervention.

The activity will take place during the period January 2005 to December 2006.

The Stena Don, which is operated by Stena Drilling Ltd, received an acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in March 2002.

The rig was built by Kvaerner Warnow Werft in Rostock, Germany. It was delivered as a new construction in 2001, and has since been on assignments for Statoil, including production drilling, testing and completion on the Norne, Åsgard, Snorre and Vigdis fields.

The Heidrun field is located on Haltenbanken off the coast of Mid-Norway.
