PSL Wins Pre-commissioning Contract from Saipem

PSL Energy Services has landed three contracts expected to be worth more than £4.5 million.

The company has been appointed to provide pipeline pre-commissioning services for all Saipem UK's 2005 offshore construction projects.

The contract covers Saipem's operations in the Rhum, Horne/Wren, Saturn, Munro and Buzzard fields and the workscope takes in all flooding, pigging, hydrotesting and de-watering operations on the new subsea pipelines in each development.

Pre-engineering work has already started and the offshore phase of the contract, expected to be worth up to £2million, is due to begin in March.

Saipem has also commissioned PSL to carry out process work on its Sabratha offshore gas platform in Libya, worth an estimated £420,000.

PSL's Great Yarmouth base will provide nitrogen leak testing and controlled bolting for the platform in the Tripoli-Ghadames Basin.

Shell EP Europe has also awarded a £2.2million two year well services contract to provide all rig assist snubbing services for Shell's underbalanced drilling campaigns in the UK and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
