Ramco Announces Seven Heads Success
Ramco Energy plc announces successful testing of the 48/24-5A well on the Seven Heads field, offshore Ireland. Ramco is Operator and holds a 49% interest in the gas Lease Undertaking covering the area.
The 48/24-5A appraisal well, Ramco’s first on the Seven Heads structure, tested a maximum flow rate of 13.7 million cubic feet of gas per day at a flowing tubing pressure of 546 psig, from Upper Wealden sandstones. This result confirms Ramco’s technical projections and is significantly better than results from previous Upper Wealden tests on the structure. The well will now be suspended and will be incorporated in future development planning as a potential producing well. The success of the first well and the extensive test data acquired have provided Ramco and its partners with sufficient information to progress development options for the field without the need to drill the second appraisal well this year.
The Seven Heads Group includes Ramco (Operator) (49%); a subsidiary of Duke Energy (26%); Island Petroleum Developments (20%); Northern Petroleum Plc (4%), and Sunningdale Oils (Ireland) Ltd (1%).
