ConocoPhillips Gets OK from PSA to Use Maersk Gallant

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted consent to ConocoPhillips to use the Maersk Gallant for production drilling over the 2/4 M installation on Ekofisk. The jacket and the support for the bridge from Ekofisk 2/4 M to the Ekofisk Center have been installed.

The topsides are being fabricated. ConocoPhillips will utilize the time until the topsides are installed (summer of 2005) to drill five of a total of 25 wells on 2/4 M.

The company's original plan was to use the Maersk Innovator for this activity. However, the arrival of this rig has been delayed.

Maersk Gallant received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in August 2002.
