C & C Completes Magnolia TLP Tow Out & Tendon Integration

C & C Technologies has recently completed survey-positioning services in support of the ConocoPhillips' Magnolia TLP (Tension Leg Platform) installation. Saipem, Inc., the installation contractor, subcontracted C & C for the TLP tow out and TLP tendon integration.

During the initial installation phase, C & C provided surface positioning aboard Saipem's S-3000 DP derrick barge, while providing subsurface ROV positioning during the tendon installation. Throughout the tow out, C & C positioned four tugs and the TLP from Gulf Marine Fabrication yard to Garden Banks block 783. After arriving on location, USBL (Ultra Short Base Line) acoustics were used to assist with the subsea TLP tendon integration. "This project was a great success," said Doug Catenaci, C & C's Project Manager. "It provided us a opportunity to demonstrate comprehensive experience, display our real-time "Fledermaus" 3D visualization software for tracking multiple vehicles and utilize our new remote networking technology."
