DONG Completes Vivi-1 Exploration Well

DONG has completed drilling of the exploration well Vivi-1/Vivi-1A (5605/10-5) in the North Sea. The well was drilled with the jackup rig ENSCO 70 close to the Norwegian/Danish boundary approximately15 kilometers northeast of the Nini field. The well was spudded August 18, 2004 in approximately 56 meters of water.

Vivi-1 was drilled as a vertical well and reached total depth at 1727 meters below mean sea level in chalk of Danian age. Subsequently a planned side-track, Vivi-1A, was carried out in order test another exploration target. Hydrocarbon shows were encountered in sandstone of Paleogene age. Cores and logging results were acquired for further evaluation.

The companies in License 4/95 are DONG as operator with 40%; RWE DEA with 20% and Denerco Oil with the remaining 30%.

Vivi-1 is now plugged and abandoned and ENSCO 70 has been moved to the Nini platform, where it will be used for development drilling.
