Parker Instrumentation Inks Distribution Deal in Caspian

Parker Instrumentation has signed a distribution agreement for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan with Asia Caspian Engineering Co. (ACECO), covering fluid instrumentation valve and tube fitting product lines. ACECO already operates industrial distribution centers in Iran and Dubai, and is currently opening a further regional office and stocking center in Ashgabat, positioning it to provide local supply and engineering support to the region's rapidly-developing energy industry.

Turkmenistan has extensive oil and gas resources, and almost 1800km of coastline onto the Caspian Sea. With its local oil and gas industry starting to grow rapidly, the agreement allows Parker to provide in-depth local support. The new distribution operation will also serve the growing demand in neighboring Uzbekistan, which has oil and gas reserves and a considerable mineral processing industry. ACECO will be offering a stocking service, and will be taking delivery of a range of instrumentation compression tube fittings, valves, manifolds and accessories.

"The engineering contractor base in the region is developing rapidly, but currently they often have to deal with distribution operations based in other countries such as Azerbaijan - which can mean delays and a significant administrative overhead", says Nitin Kapoor, Managing Director of ACECO. "This new support centre will put a much more efficient supply chain into place, with an instrumentation product line that is second to none in both range and quality".

"We were looking for an organization that could add value to our products", says Steve Mullen, Parker Instrumentation Market Development Manager. "ACECO has built up a lot of experience in this industrial application area through its existing operations, and we believe its new distribution centre will make a tangible difference to the success of our clients' projects in this region".

ACECO's regional support office in Ashgabat will open for business in September, 2004.
