KBR Inks Deal with Kazakh Institute of Oil & Gas

KBR has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas (KING) to combine their respective skills and expertise, and to collaborate for the purposes of securing and executing contracts in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ron Beveridge, Senior Vice-President for KBR's offshore oil and gas business said, 'KBR has been operating in Kazakhstan since 1992 and we are now working there on projects across a variety of market sectors. We are delighted to be entering into this agreement with KING.'

The potential future contracts relate to feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed engineering, programme, project and construction management for the offshore and onshore oil and gas industries and their associated infrastructure and any other projects KING and KBR may agree to pursue.

Depending upon the type of project, either KING or KBR will be designated as the lead or prime contractor and, if necessary, the formation of a project specific joint venture or consortium will be considered.
