Aminex Secures Rig to Drill Ntorya-2 Well in Tanzania's Ruvuma Basin
Aminex plc, an Africa-focused oil and gas production and development company, said Friday it has inked a rig contract to drill the onshore Ntorya-2 appraisal well in Tanzania's Ruvuma Basin.
Preparation are underway to mobilize the Caroil 2 drilling rig, currently on the Ntorya 1 well pad, and equipment to the Ntorya 2 pad. Aminex indicated that the contract is for one firm well, with an option for a second well, and plans to spud Ntorya-2 during the fourth quarter of this year.
The company holds 75 percent operating interest in the well, which is located 4,921 feet (1,500 meters) away from the Ntorya-1 discovery well, which flow tested at 20 million standard cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) and 139 barrels associated condensate.
