KrisEnergy Spuds Bangora-6 Development Well in Bangladesh's Block 9
KrisEnergy Ltd., a Singapore-based upstream oil and gas company, reported Monday that the Bapex Bijoy 10 rig has commenced drilling of the Bangora-6 development well in Bangladesh's onshore Block 9 production sharing contract.
The Bangora-6 well, drilled from the Golpanagar site in the northern section of Block 9, is targeted to reach total depth at 12,421 feet (3,786 meters) measured depth, or 10,016 feet (3,053 meters) total vertical depth subsea.
Block 9, spread over 683 square miles (1,770 square kilometers), is located around 31 miles (50 kilometers) east of Dhaka. The Bangora field produced an average of 106 million cubic feet per day of gas and 291 barrels of condensate from 4 development wells in 2015.
KrisEnergy is the operator for Block 9 with a 30 percent working interest, while Niko Exploration (Block 9) Ltd. and Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited hold 60 percent and 10 percent stake, respectively.
